Costs & Schedule (2024–25)

Pack 122 is in the Coastal Sage zone of the San Diego-Imperial Scouting America (formerly known as Boy Scouts of America) council and serves all youth from Kindergarten through the Fifth Grade. Scouts are broken into small groups called dens, by grade level, which stay together throughout their Cub Scout journey. All of the dens make up the pack.

During the schoolyear, the pack meets most months on a Wednesday evening at 6:30PM in Granzer Hall at Coronado Middle School. Dens set their own meeting schedules. In addition to our regular pack meetings there are special events, like walking in the Coronado Holiday Parade, the Pinewood Derby (a Saturday afternoon in January), and two camp-outs per year (fall and spring). We also have our largest event, the Blue & Gold Banquet, which is held on a Saturday evening in March. In the summer we keep things going with occasional pack activities.

Base fees are broken into two parts (both of which must be paid in order to participate in Pack 122 activities) and are charged as follows:

Paid online directly to Scouting America on your annual registration anniversary (as of August 25, 2024, subject to change): National registration fees: $85 San Diego-Imperial Council fees: $65 in 2023 Optional Scout Life magazine subscription: $15 Note: For Scouts registered prior to fall of 2023, this date will be January 1. Pack 122 is unable to refund start-of-year pack dues for those who do not renew their BSA membership.

Pack 122 annual dues, invoiced via Square (due October 1 or two weeks after new Scout registration date if after this time): $125 pack dues ($85 for Arrow of Light Scouts) (refunds of pack dues, not including the current month or awards received, are available within 30 days of payment)

Pack dues covers the cost of awards required in order to earn the annual rank award (extra electives will be invoiced separately), leader fees, and pack overhead (which includes things like equipment storage and pack meeting expenses).

Note: Scouts who transfer from another unit and are current on their national fees will pay for the San Diego-Imperial Council fees and pack dues, but do not pay additional national fees. You can transfer your Scout at beascout.scouting.org.

Other costs in a year of Scouting include two camp-outs in the fall and spring, the Pinewood Derby, and the Blue & Gold Banquet. The costs for these are charged per event and are not included in annual dues. Extra activities put on by your den, the pack, or council may also incur an additional fee, if you participate in them.

Uniforms are not included and must be purchased separately, either online or in the Scout Shop at BSA headquarters in Balboa Park. Scouts who wish to have a physical handbook can also purchase that at the Scout Shop or online.

Scouts can significantly reduce their expenses by "paying their own way" through our annual online popcorn fundraiser in September/October. Fundraising can cover up to two participants at each campout and the Blue & Gold Banquet, the Pinewood Derby, and the Arrow of Light award (for 5th grade Scouts). If you would like to participate in selling popcorn, you can visit https://portal.trails-end.com/ to get started. Please be careful to choose "San Diego-Imperial Council" during sign-up (there is a council called the Coronado Council, but it is not us!) We are Pack 0122 in the Coastal Sage district.
